Who is mkdev for?

Mentorship is good for anybody who wants to learn programming, regardless of the prior knowledge. At all the stages of a programmer work and studies he or she always learns from somebody, this process is continuous. Mentors can share the experience they have now but will be also able to do in the future.

But best of all mentorship suits the ones who think that they need somebody to show the right course and motivate them, share their point of view or give some advice. Here are some examples:

Beginner developer. You only started learning programming. You’re overwhelmed by the abundance of courses, books, info and different tips on the internet. You’re eager to become a master but have no idea where to start. You might have even finished several courses, but this doesn’t really help, you still drag your feet. In this case a mentor can guide you, choose where to move, draw up a study plan and later make sure that your goal (e.g. getting a job) is met.

Creator of an app. You’re familiar with programming and have an idea of a future app or a website in your head. You probably have a draft or some of your code has already been written. But something is still amiss, you have trouble with launching your app and cannot start getting money from it. In this case a mentor can break down the whole process for you and determine what’s been done and what is to be done. He or she might also give you a hint about what should be done first and what can be left for later, as well

How much do your services cost and how do I pay for them?

The weekly price is mentioned in each mentor’s profile. By each week we mean 7 consecutive days from the moment the subscription’s started. You can’t pay for less than a week. If you need help for a short term, consultations are more suitable for you.

You can pay for from one to four weeks at a time. As you can see on the website, we also offer a monthly subscription. One month means means 4 weeks, 28 consecutive days. If you pay for several weeks at a time, it is cheaper. More about it here.

What is mkdev

Mkdev is a place for newbie and experienced programmers to learn from each other, develop professionally and achieve their goals together.

The mkdev history dates back to 2014, when a programmer and mentor Kirill Shirinkin ventured to start helping beginners and share his knowledge with them, mostly to maintain his own skills. This decision was partly caused by the fact that early in his career, Kirill, too, was a mentee.

This is how the idea of the project where students can search for mentors and mentors can share their expertise was born. Together with Leonid Suschev, a digital marketing specialist and designer, they created mkdev.

Mkdev mentors worked their way up from newbie programmers to real experts and they know that there’s no royal road to success. Even nowadays most of the programmers are self-taught and there are many reasons for that. The situation will remain the same as long as the sphere continues to grow rapidly.

Our mission is to remove all the barriers so that the programmers could share their skills and best practices and develop professionally in a convenient way. We strive to have new colleagues, the ones the knowledge of whose we will be absolutely sure of.

What is a consultation?

It is a talk with a professional regarding some particular question you might have. Consultations are oral and good for those who want to figure out how to solve some task on the spot and don’t need a mentor for long-term help according to the study plan. Question 5

How long does the education take?

Accepted Answer

It’s impossible to predict how much time it takes some particular student, it differs. It mostly depends on your goals and pace. Your mentor’s aim is to give you in-demand skills, which means that you’re going to study as long as you need it. You can look through the plan created for you in your first week to make a rough estimation. But keep in mind that it’ll probably take you no less than two months to reach every goal.

When do you do refunds?

There’s only one case when we do it. After you’ve paid, you immediately get your mentor’s contact info. But you need to get acquainted and discuss all the details first. Only after that your mentor can manually start the subscription period you’ve paid for. If during the period when the mentor hasn’t done it yet you suddenly realize that’s something’s wrong and this mentor is not for you, we’ll do a refund. Let your mentor know and contact our support team, and we’ll help you.

We have an opinion that in other cases we can solve any situation possible. Mentorship is a personalized approach and we try to adapt to any circumstances and help any student. If you’re not happy with something, let us know via the contact form on the website.
