How do I communicate with my mentor?
During your studies, your mentor is going to give you some practical tasks. Doing them one by one, you’re going to move towards your goal until you learn everything that’s necessary. You get tasks from Quests or personally from your mentor.
Each task includes a practical assignment and some theory needed for this particular task. You mentor checks your task and sends it back for you to follow-up until everything’s done properly. When you’re up against the wall, you can always ask some questions. To get the most of your studies you might need to learn how to ask the right questions. You can read about how to do it in this article. This allows you to skip the part of the studies when you just constantly communicate with your mentor to discuss some stuff, because you’ll be able to get the answers quickly. But if you get into trouble and absolutely don’t know what to do, your mentor will definitely take a close look at what’s going on
Each task is aimed to solve some particular practical problem. ‘Read a book’ or ‘Listen to an hour-long lecture’ is never a separate task. If your mentor tells you to read some book, you should do it while working on your practical tasks, not instead of it.
