About the schedule
When will your mentor be available to you?
How long does the education take?
It’s impossible to predict how much time it takes some particular student, it differs. It mostly depends on your goals and pace. Your mentor’s aim is to give you in-demand skills, which means that you’re going to study as long as you need it. You can look through the plan created for you in your first week to make a rough estimation. But keep in mind that it’ll probably take you no less than two months to reach every goal.
When do I start?
Your paid subscription period starts only when your mentor does it manually. After you’ve paid, you immediately get your mentor’s contact info. You get acquainted, discuss how you’re going to study, how often to communicate and when it’s better to start. Only after that your mentor can push the button and start the subscription.
How much time do I need to study every day for it to be effective?
According to our experience, the perfect scenario is when you study every weekday. Even if you are at work all day, spending a couple of hours on your education is better than doing nothing. If you have no opportunity to study every day, the whole process will take you more time and you will need to study harder, even though you determine your pace yourself. Let your mentor know when you have more time and want to work hard, and he or she will plan your schedule according to your needs and deman
I’m ready to study 40 hours a week. Will my mentor be there with me for 8 hours a day?
No, but it’s not necessary, really. This is how the mentorship works: your mentor shouldn’t breathe down your neck all the time and monitor each your step. Your mentor will be in touch with you every day, but he or she is not going to be online all the time. You’re going to communicate during the sessions devoted to some particular problem, when your mentor answers your questions, reviews your tasks and whatnot. Your study process is organized that way so you always have something to learn and d
I can spend on my studies only 3 days a week, but pay for 7. What should I do?
It’s up to you to decide how much time you want to devote to learning. You can study hard for several days a week or just a little daily. There’s no fixed amount of hours in your paid week. You should choose what schedule and pace are the most convenient for you. If every week you’re available on some particular days, you can suggest that your mentor freezes the subscription on others. Every case is exceptional and what will be decided in your case depends not only on you but on your mentor as w
When is my mentor available?
The available time differs for each mentor. Basically, mentors answer questions and do code reviews all day. But each mentor has their own schedule for thorough communication with students. Some might answer slowly during the working hours, some are quite the opposite and more busy at night. Our mentors and students live in different time zones which might have an impact on availability. Most of the mentors are ready to help on weekends too, but not all of them. For some it’s a must-do to rest o
I need to freeze my subscription for a short time. What should I do?
We all might have unexpected situations in life. You might get ill, move home or your flat might get flooded. Contact your mentor, explain your situation, tell how much time you need to recover, and he or she will gladly freeze your subscription for some time. Each pause can be no more than 7 days. We hope that you won’t face long-term calamities :)
I need to freeze my subscription for a long time. What should I do?
You’re the one who decides how much of your time you can spend on your studies. We recommend you to think thoroughly how much weeks you’re ready to pay for. We don’t do freezes for more than 7 days. If you want to get the most of the days left, discuss it with your mentor. According to our data, long-term pauses are bad for the education process. If you have no opportunity at all to continue learning, you can stop and, when you’re ready to get back, continue from what you’ve stopped at earlier.
Can I continue learning after some time?
During your studies you can prolong your subscription as much as needed for your purposes. Don’t worry if your subscription is over before you’ve finished your studies. At any convenient time you can subscribe again and you’ll start where you’ve stopped earlier with the same mentor. If you achieve your goals but later get some new ones, we’ll be glad to help you again. You can continue with your ex-mentor or some other one. You’ll get a new study plan and you’ll continue with your studies :)
The subscription period is over, but I still want to talk to my mentor. What should I do?
All the professional and personal contact info is for informational purposes only. Please, don’t stalk mentors on social media and through the contacts we’ve provided you with. Imagine that during your paid study time your mentor spends time on some other students. You don’t want that, do you? If you need to talk to your ex-mentor about some particular question, check if he or she is available for consultations.
